QUINNS BEACH,  WANNEROO WA

The Quinns Beach Swimming Enclosure - one of the WA State Government’s funded shark barriers - is an award winning eco-friendly Aquarius Gen 2 Barrier. The enclosure extends 85m offshore and 300m along the beach and is located on the north side of the Quinns-Mindarie SLSC and Portofino's Restaurant.

Like all of Global Marine Enclosures' products, the Aquarius Barrier is an eco-friendly alternative to shark nets and is designed to not entrap marine life. In fact, no bycatch has ever been recorded in any of our enclosures.

Installation was fully completed on the 30th of January 2017. The Quinns Beach shark barrier was officially opened by the WA Premier at the time, the Hon. Colin Barnett MLA, alongside the City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts.

In January 2019 the Quinns Beach Barrier was upgraded to the latest and most advanced Shark Barrier Technology Global Marine Enclosures offer, the award winning Aquarius Gen 2 Barrier.

The barrier is installed in the summer months and removed over the winter period in line with our monitoring and maintenance procedures.
